The ring motor has advantages in overgrown waters or areas with many anglers. Due to its construction, nothing can get caught on a propeller shaft and disable the motor.

High efficiency, only slightly higher than with normal electric motors with shaft

Recuperation possible while sailing or standing still in the water. The batteries slowly recharge during the ride from 4 knots. However, the braking water resistance should not be forgotten.

Which power for which boat?
Travel time and range depend on the battery. In an example with an 8,000 kg boat and a 20 kWh battery, we have the following measurements:
✓ At full load, the battery lasts just under an hour and the boat reaches a speed of 14 km/h. The range was 14 km.
✓ At 1/2 power (7,000W), the driving pleasure lasts for a 3-hour trip on the water at a marching speed of 10 km/h and a range of 30 km.
✓ Those who plan longer and more leisurely tours on the water can go much further with less power. At 1/4 power (3,500W), a speed of 8 km/h was reached for 5 hours. So a total range of 40 km with just one battery charge.
Hy.Generation batteries
The Hy.G battery is a perfectly pre-configured battery for the 14 kW electric motors from Hy-Generation. One advantage of the pre-wired system is the true plug & play connection for easy installation. On request, up to 10 modules can even be used simultaneously - depending on the desired range.
The batteries are supplied including 3m cable, a circuit breaker, a fuse and a Victron Bluetooth measuring shunt.

The manufacturer Hy.G from France
The French company Hy.Generation offers electric boat motors with a power range from 6 kW to 30 kW. The existing products are constantly being further developed and new variants are regularly added.
The development of the special motors began in 2018 and the first prototype was officially confirmed in 2020. Since then, many projects have been implemented and new models have always been developed - most recently an upgrade to 14 kW and soon 30 kW will also be added.
