Range of the BlueSpin 8
Travel time and range depend on the battery. In an example with a 6,000 kg heavy boat and a 20 kWh battery, we have the following measurements:
✓ Under full load, the battery lasts just under one hour and 15 minutes. The boat reached a speed of 14 km/h. The range was 17 km.
✓ At 1/2 power, the enjoyment lasts for a 2.5-hour trip on the water at a cruising speed of 11 km/h and a range of 27 km.
✓ Those planning longer and more leisurely trips on the water can go significantly further with less power. At 1/5 power, a speed of 8 km/h was achieved for 7 hours. In total, this results in a range of 56 km on just one battery charge.
Special feature of the ring motors from BlueNav
The new propeller blades from BlueNav were inspired by the hydrodynamics of a whale's fin. The propeller blades do not taper smoothly and roundly, but end in the shape of a wave. Thanks to CFD simulation, the BlueNav engineers were able to reduce the flow resistance of the propeller blades.
On the outer side of the motor and on the propeller blades, there are grooves - these were modeled after the belly of a whale. This also demonstrably increases the efficiency of the motor.

Scope of delivery of BlueSpin 8
The BlueNav control panel of BlueSpin 8 offers 1 joystick for control, 1-2 throttle levers for propulsion, and 4 buttons for on/off - up/down - optional functions - emergency stop.
The gateway box enables communication with NMEA 2000 and 4G - this allows integration into the common displays on the market.
The main communication cables between the components feature a quick connector.
The control unit is the brain of the system and includes the motor controller and its air cooling, as well as a circuit board where all components come together.
