Technical features of Battery Technology

  • High-voltage installation at 96 V Systems. Please have the installation carried out by an electrical specialist.
  • The battery can be deeply discharged up to 100% (depending on the temperature). We recommend not charging the battery to 100% and discharging it to 90%.
  • If you have other consumers on board, you should integrate a measurement with SmartShunt into your network.
  • Good compatibility with many different electric boat motors from other manufacturers.
  • Follow the manufacturer's instructions for charging and discharging.
  • Any parallel connection to the desired capacity is possible.
  • The 200 Ah battery can be discharged with up to 200 A.

In addition to any number of batteries, you also need charger(s), cables and often a display or shunt measurement. Throttle, controller, key switch and display usually come from the engine.

The built-in BMS additionally protects the cells from damage and offers: Overcharge protection, deep discharge protection, overvoltage protection, active balancing of the cells, charge monitoring and control, temperature protection of cells and BMS and, of course, short-circuit protection.

Battery Technology's prices are a real challenge. The manufacturer has very efficient supply chains and made a few concessions in the BMS. The 200 Ah battery can be discharged with 200 A (~1 C). This is also convincing in comparison to other manufacturers and is usually absolutely sufficient.

The bottom line is that you benefit from the good prices of the batteries. The 48 V 200 Ah batteries from Battery Technology are priced at 350€ per kWh and are comparable in price to Deep Cycle AGM batteries. However, they are significantly lighter and more durable. We welcome the development that electric mobility on the water is becoming more and more affordable. In the meantime, it is worthwhile for your wallet to rely on e-mobility.
