The Standard Bow Thruster 4.2 is a powerful, electric bow thruster with 24V operating voltage and 4.2 kW power. Despite its compact design, it delivers a static thrust of 44kgf and is ideal for smaller boats, tenders, or applications with limited space.
Thanks to the IP68 protection class, the motor is completely waterproof and suitable for use in saltwater. The integrated motor control ensures reliable and efficient regulation of the drive.
Standard bow thruster from Rim Drive Technology
Our standard bow thruster is the quietest in its class. Thanks to its compact design, it can be installed further forward in the bow, allowing for better control – especially in wind or current.

What is a bow thruster (bugstrahlruder)?
A bow thruster – in German, Bugstrahlruder – is a transverse thruster located at the front of a boat. It generates lateral thrust and allows you to move the bow (the front of the boat) specifically to the left or right.
