The Bow Thruster Tunnel Set 5.0 from Rim Drive Technology is a powerful, electric bow thruster system with 48V operating voltage and 5.0 kW power. Despite its compact design, it delivers a high static thrust of 55 kgf and is ideal for medium to large boats as well as demanding maritime applications.
Thanks to the integrated tunnel construction, the drive is optimally protected in the hull and ensures efficient water flow and precise maneuverability – even in strong winds or currents. The robust construction allows for stable and durable integration into various boat types.

The IP68 protection class makes the motor completely waterproof and suitable for use in saltwater. The integrated motor control also ensures reliable and efficient regulation of the drive.

Our standard bow thruster is the quietest in its class. Thanks to its compact design, it can be installed further forward in the bow, which allows for better control – especially in wind or current.

This electric bow motor can also be used as a stern thruster. It is designed for continuous operation and does not require wear-prone components such as shaft seals or gaskets.

A bow thruster – in German, Bugstrahlruder – is a transverse thruster located at the front of a boat. It generates lateral thrust and allows the bow (the front of the boat) to be moved precisely to the left or right. This is especially helpful when:
