Electric motor ePropulsion Spirit 2 with 2 kW continuous power and 3 kW peak power, suitable for boats with up to approximately 2,000 kg displacement. The motor from ePropulsion features an integrated lithium-ion battery, onboard computer, and can be continuously regulated.
The motor is available in extra short shaft, short shaft, and long shaft versions. For inflatable boats and motorboats, a short shaft is recommended; for sailboats, a long shaft is recommended.

Range of the Spirit 2 battery
The battery of the Spirit 2 easily lasts for 6 hours of driving time with normal use (personally tested!). Depending on your driving style, give or take 1-2 hours. It all depends on how heavy the boat is and at what speed you want to travel. Here are a few real-life examples with an inflatable boat:
At full power with 2 kW continuous output, the battery lasts just under 40 minutes. If you occasionally activate the 3 kW boost, only about 30 minutes. On a very light aluminum boat, speeds of up to 18 km/h were achieved, giving a total range of 12 km.
At half power (1 kW), you can enjoy a trip on the water for over 1.5 hours at a cruising speed of 8.5 km/h and a range of 12.75 km.
If you plan longer and more leisurely tours on the water, you can go much further with less power. At 1/8 power (250 W), a speed of 6 km/h was maintained for 6 hours. That means a total range of 36 km with just one battery charge.
The motor also works very well for anglers. At just 100 watts, the boat already travels at 4 km/h, and this can last for over 15 hours. Potentially a range of more than 60 km with just one battery charge.
If you are planning longer tours on the water, you can quickly swap out the battery in just a few steps and order a spare battery.
Hydrogeneration under sail
The hydrogeneration works effectively between 3 and 16 knots, generating about 380 W of power at 10 knots and up to 1.5 kW at 16 knots.
Depending on the boat and the extent of the trip, it is more efficient to remove the motor while underway. However, on multi-day trips, regeneration is a great addition for extending the range.

Thanks to the variable battery, you can easily take a spare battery on board. The 1.539 kWh lithium-ion battery can be fully recharged within 7 hours.
Alternatively, charging via a 12 V onboard power supply or with solar panels is also possible. The lithium-ion battery can thus be made ready for use again quickly.
Which shaft length for the ePropulsion Spirit 2?
The extra short shaft for a transom height of 30-40cm, in our experience, is suitable for boats with a flat transom, kayaks, or canoes.
The short shaft is designed for a transom height of 40-50 cm and is perfect for inflatable boats and motorboats.
The long shaft is made for transom heights over 50 cm and is ideal for sailboats or houseboats.
