Outboard motor with 14 kW power, suitable for motor and sailboats up to approximately 8,000 kg displacement. The motor with remote control or tiller from Hy.Generation is compatible with 48 V Hy.G batteries such as the Hy.G 14.
The thrust is comparable to a 40 hp gasoline engine. The remote control has a onboard computer with display and GPS. The special feature of the Hy.G 14 is recuperation.
Also available as a pod motor.

The ring motor has advantages in overgrown waters or areas with many anglers. Due to its construction, nothing can get caught on a propeller shaft and disable the motor.

High efficiency, only slightly higher than with normal electric motors with shaft

Recuperation possible while sailing or standing still in the water. The batteries slowly recharge during the ride from 4 knots. However, the braking water resistance should not be forgotten.

Which power for which boat?
Range of the Hy.G 14 kW
Driving time and range depend on the battery. In an example with a 4,000 kg boat and a 10 kWh battery, we have the following measurements:
✓ At full load, the battery lasts just under 1.5 hours and the boat reaches a speed of 12 km/h. The range was 18 km.
✓ At 1/2 power (3,000W), the driving pleasure lasts for a 3-hour trip on the water at a marching speed of 9 km/h and a range of 27 km.
✓ Those who plan longer and more comfortable tours on the water can go much further with less power. At 1/4 power (1,500W), a speed of 7 km/h was achieved for 6 hours. In total, a range of 42 km with just one battery charge.
Hy.Generation batteries
The Hy.G battery is a perfectly pre-configured battery for the 6 kW electric motors from Hy-Generation. One advantage of the pre-wired system is the true plug & play connection for easy installation. Upon request, up to 10 modules (53.8 kWh) can be used simultaneously - depending on the desired range.
The batteries are delivered including 3m cable, a power protection switch, a fuse and a Victron Bluetooth measuring shunt.

The manufacturer Hy.G from France
The French company Hy.Generation offers electric boat motors with a power range from 6 kW to 30 kW. The existing products are constantly being further developed and new variants are regularly added.
The development of the special motors began in 2018 and the first prototype was officially confirmed in 2020. Since then, many projects have been implemented and new models have always been developed - most recently an upgrade to 14 kW and soon 30 kW will also be added.
