The defective diesel had to be removed, the installation of the electric motor was done by the shipyard. The advantages are extensive: pleasant driving feeling, very quiet, no dirt, no noise, hardly any maintenance, same power as the diesel, battery charging is fast.
All in all good experiences. The only disadvantage: at full load, of course, you have to pay attention to the range.

Thanks to the high efficiency of the high-quality, brushless DC motor, the motor achieves an overall efficiency of 50%.

Maintenance-free for life. The drives are designed for continuous use underwater. Only the anodes need to be checked annually.

Very quiet - under 60dB! The electric motor is therefore significantly quieter than combustion engines.
EPropulsion 3 kW pod motor - Battery range
Travel time and range depend on the battery, the boat, and usage. In an example with a 24-foot (7.3 m) sailboat and a 3 kWh E60 battery, we have the following measurements:
At full throttle, the Pod 3.0 Evo runs for one hour and reaches a speed of 11.6 km/h. The range was 11.6 km.
At 1/2 power, the fun lasts for a 2-hour trip on the water. In the test, we were able to achieve a range of 17.4 km at a speed of 8.7 km/h.
Those who plan longer and more leisurely trips on the water can go much further with less power. At 1/6 power (500 W), we were still able to travel at 6.4 km/h for 6 hours. This resulted in a range of 38.4 kilometers!
Battery for ePropulsion Pod 3.0 EVO pod motor
Thanks to the uniform voltage of 48V, you can easily bring your desired battery on board. This allows batteries to be connected in parallel and combined. Please note our instructions regarding the batteries used and sufficient storage space.
The lithium-ion battery can also be quickly made roadworthy depending on the charger. The charger should be chosen depending on the desired battery size. We are happy to support you here in our free telephone consultation or with our digital advisor.
