The pod motor is permanently mounted under the sailboat. The TEMO Pod 500 is suitable for boats up to approx. 500 kg displacement.

TEMO SEASIDE model series - maximum safety

The 500 watt motor easily powers sailboats up to 6 m in length and approximately 500 kg displacement – depending on the cruising area and boat.
During forward motion, the thrust is up to 26 lbs. When moving backward, slightly less thrust is to be expected due to the propeller.
The motor is completely waterproof according to protection class IP68.

TEMO Pod 500 - high comfort

Light weight of 2.3 kg for motor plus the battery - ultra-compact and also a quick installation is possible
The rudder of the boat is used as usual for steering the sailboat.
There will be versatile optional accessories in the future: 2 different control displays to choose from (with or without screen and remote control)

Technology of the TEMO 500 pod motor

TEMO pod motors are available as part of an open system, allowing for great flexibility in installation.
The SEASIDE series has high efficiency thanks to Hairpin technology combined with the highest standards in sealing
All pods of the SEASIDE series are compatible with solar energy.
The entire SEASIDE series is equipped with a ceramic shaft seal, achieving protection class IP68 without gaskets. This seal also gives the motor a longer shaft durability and better efficiency.
This system requires only minimal annual motor maintenance compared to conventional seals, which need to be replaced every 3 to 4 years. The mechanical seal is an advanced, durable, and high-performance technological process.

Range of the TEMO 500 Pod

The TEMO 500 Pod has a separate lithium-ion battery that can be removed from the boat. The battery has a capacity of 315 Wh and is very lightweight. Driving time and range naturally depend on the boat, weight, and area of operation:

→ With 500 W input power, the motor has a runtime at maximum speed of 35 minutes.

→ At half power (250 W), it lasts 1 hour and 10 minutes. At quarter throttle (100 W), you can cruise for a good 3 hours with the TEMO 500.

→ The charger is also included in the scope of delivery. The charger can be used with any standard 230V socket. When the battery is empty, the charging time is approximately 3.5 hours.

The manufacturer TEMO from France

TEMO has been developing electric propulsion solutions for the sports and outdoor industry for several years. TEMO's goal is to replace the traditional and hard-to-store outboard motor. The TEMO 500 is particularly suitable for small sailing dinghies on inland waters. The TEMO 1000, 3000 or 6000 POD, on the other hand, is more suitable for somewhat heavier cabin and sailing boats, as well as tenders with more people.

TEMO is characterized by a unique motor design with an integrated battery. The light weight of the motors certainly stands out the most. It is a truly pleasantly portable solution at a technically flawless level.

Batteries for the TEMO Pod 500

The modular battery system allows you to conveniently take your batteries with you and also charge them at home using a regular household outlet. This way, you don't have to constantly connect your boat to the outlet after sailing - especially advantageous if you don't have power at the harbor.

The TEMO 1000 Pod can be operated with a modular system that includes up to 4 batteries, with capacities ranging from 950 Wh to 11,600 Wh. TEMO has developed a state-of-the-art charging and discharging system that provides different modes and scenarios for various needs.

For example, you have the option to discharge only one battery from the entire package during an outing, which minimizes the number of batteries to be discharged.
