In our opinion, the latest version of the Torqeedo Cruise 6.0 is currently the best electric motor for planing. Advantages include a well-optimized propeller and a slim motor housing.

Additional benefits include a color display with GPS and range calculation, as well as a modern and interactive app for your phone – through which you can also download updates.

The price is, of course, a bit higher than with ePropulsion or other brands, but in return you get a product made in Germany.

Our best-selling electric outboard with 6 kW is the ePropulsion Navy 6.0 EVO. The motor offers a really great price-performance ratio and is a genuine recommendation. The motor is very quiet and is virtually inaudible while driving.

The motor is mainly used for heavy boats up to 3 tons. A major advantage is the side-mounted throttle lever. The top throttle lever is a bit older, but it works perfectly—even with Bluetooth.

Brand new, matching propellers for light boats have been introduced—made of plastic and aluminum. We still need to test whether the performance can match that of the Torqeedo Cruise.
